Recorded in 2006, the disc is Jim’s newest offering and includes tunes penned by Robert Johnson, the right Reverend Gary Davis, Blind Boy Fuller, Greg Allman, Hank Williams, Jr., and others. This CD calls to mind Robert Johnson performing in a small combo.
Snapshots was recorded in 2003 and features ex Muddy Waters drummer Willie “Big Eyes” Smith; multi W.C. Handy award winning bassist Willie Kent (d. 2006); worldly known bassist Bob Stroger; Ronnie Baker Brooks’ pianist and Hammond B3 specialist Daryl Couts and includes knock off performances by guitarists Nick Moss and Dave Katzman and includes a radical interpretation of Tampa Red’s ‘Things About Comin’ My Way’ featuring a bagpipe in combination with Jim’s vocals and 12 string guitar!
